Like the Lebanese, Jews, and Greeks, among others, they were counted as white. However, they were seen as different from the larger Anglo population and experienced many of the same restrictions as African Americans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children of Mexican immigrants struggled to find a place in this world.
