Sin embargo, en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, el aserradero local  se ampli\u00f3 y las peque\u00f1as casas de madera fueron demolidas o trasladadas f\u00edsicamente al oeste de la calle Broadway. En el mapa de 1950 de la compa\u00f1\u00eda Sanborn el aserradero est\u00e1 pegado encima del antiguo barrio de La Topeka. Es posible ver tambi\u00e9n, medio borrados, unos cuadrados amarillos de un mapa anterior.
